Meet the Coach!

Ryan Black is a homeschool graduate, who is a Christian and loves the game of basketball.  He played for Mountain State Christian School during high school and is currently a student at Marshall University. He has coached Ignite Middle School Basketball since it began three years ago.  Ryan is excited to coach the middle school and high school teams again this year!

 Ignite Basketball has two competitive boys teams:

   Middle School (grades 6-8) and High School (grades 9-12).


WHO WE PLAY:  We compete against local Christian and private schools in West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky.

WHEN: Our season runs from November to March

WHERE: All home games will be at Maranatha Fellowship (St. Albans)

PRACTICES: We practice 3x per week. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays. Middle school practices the first and second hour, High school practices the second and third hour.

HOW CAN YOU BE A PART: Tryouts are Thursday, September 2nd at Maranatha Church in St. Albans. Starting a 4:30pm for Middle School (6th-8th grade) and 6:30pm for High School (9th-12th grade).

Parents should plan to stay for an informational meeting.

Please note: Athletes must be at least 51% homeschooled to play for Ignite.

Virtual homeschooling through a county school system does not qualify

as homeschooling because students are eligible to play sports for the county

in which they are virtual.
